I'm Ophiaca and this journal is dedicated to my resin creatures who I affectionately call my little Ophites. Here you will mainly find posts with photos and background stories of my darlings or other things related to the BJD-hobby.

In my profile you can find a list of the dolls I currently own and their names. Most of them have some photos in my scrapbook, but you will find more if you use the tags; I usually tag photo entries according to the company and molds.

Unfortunately I am always in short supply of time, so I can write not nearly as much entries or comment as much as I'd love to. But I try! Please take no offense, my lack of commenting is just due to lack of time.

My journal is now friends only, but I love to meet new BJD people! So if you want to friend me, please comment here first (comments are screened) and wait until I've added you to my friends list. Maybe I'm funny in that way, but I'd like to know who reads my entries, so please say hello and comment once in a while so I can get to know you. ^^

A cute Limhwa Limho Mono (the 43cm guy) with a face up by thelyn  is for sale here. If you've always wanted one of these really beautiful little guys, here's the chance! Angelmecha is a wonderful person and lovely to deal with. :)

I've been on a little family trip yesterday during which we strolled through a park. In that park is a lake with ducks and one swan couple. We came upon a cordoned off area by the lake and found out that that was done to protect the breeding swans that had their nest there, and apparently three eggs had just hatched on that morning or the evening before! Fortunately I had a camera with me to take a few photos of the little ducklings (I hope that's the word for swan babies?) and the parents. That's so cute, I have to share them with you! ^^ The quality unfortunately isn't that good, because I had to use maximum zoom mostly, and the sun was too bright on the white swans.

On a whim I looked at my stats on photobucket today and found to my surprise that one of my resinmatch photos is evidently hotlinked in a russian dollforum. I get around 150 hits per month from this forum (http://www.bjdclub.ru/). I have a basic account, so I have limited bandwidth and even though this doesn't take up a lot of that bandwidth I'm miffed.

I mean, it would have been nice if they'd asked of course, and I wouldn't have said no because you wanna help out, right? But if they take my photo without asking, then can't they at least save it to their own server instead of hotlinking to my photo? I wanted to send the admin of that board an email, asking them to do just that, but I can't find even one freakin' email address on their page. And apart from the fact that I don't speak Russian I don't want to join that board only to tell them to leave my photo alone. DX

Hope you like the photos, because there's been a casualty while I shot them - before I could shout 'Timber!' poor Brandon fell and broke off his pinkie. Fortunately his character has scars from previous fisticuffs, so a broken pinkie won't be out of character.

For everybody who doesn't know yet: there's a cool new online doll-magazine made by doll_paparazzi  (Mercy), called Doll-Lite . There are/will be interviews with customizers, BJD artists, owners, lots of interesting articles about BJD-related themes like photography... oh, go and see for yourself, you won't regret it! There's an RSS feature too.

I haven't had the time to take new photos, but hopefully I will sometime soon. In the meantime, why don't you have a look at my post at vita_ersatz , or rather at all the awesome photography there? This time there was no theme, you could post up to seven of your favourite shots.

As I've already announced in my last entry I'm friends-locking my journal from now on. I've already been editing all of my past entries and locked most of them. I've also fixed a lot of broken photolinks. ^_^;; Phew!

I've totally forgotten about solving the movie-meme! So, if any of you wonders which movies these were, I've added all missing titles there. I have to admit that some of the quotes were too hard, and My Own Private Idaho has to be too old. But this Alexander-quote? Come on, that's so hilarious, did nobody notice it? XD
I just realized five out of the fifteen star Christian Bale, heheh. Oh well, he has both, talent and good looks, I just love to watch his movies.

Apart from that I don't have a lot to say, I'm so tired I'll probably fall asleep the second I stop moving, so I'll stop pretending I'm alive and crawl into my bed. I hope to have some photos ready for posting soon! And wheee, the body I'm waiting for is on it's way! Yay, now I pray for MSC weather and time off coinciding.

Yeah, I know, I'm probably the slowest person ever to jump the bandwagon, but I just didn't manage to finish this meme faster. >.< At first I had trouble to get 15 movies together, then I didn't know how to limit myself to only 15. Then I had to search for the quotes I had in mind, and I really didn't want to get all the dvds out and look for them myself. Anyways, I hope someone out there is still interested in doing this and I didn't choose too hard quotes/movies!

This cool photo was posted somewhere on DoA I think in a discussion about piercings, and nobody seemed to know who this chara is. I'd really like to know though! ^^ Now I'm not very well-versed in the anime/cosplay world, but I think some people on my FList are. Does anybody of you folks know on which chara this cute guy based his costume? Or is it based on nothing? Anybody know? Thank you! <3

Okay, this is stupid, and totally BJD-unrelated, but I recently stumbled into an episode of CSI and it struck me, how Stokes' appearance had changed... - Does anybody else see similarities there too or is it only me?



Maybe Eads is a big NIN fan? Or they go to the same Gym? ;)

Ok. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control I need money. Seriously. I have to sell at least one of my little resin friends, and Naveen, my Dollmore Dean, drew the lot with the X. :(



For the same reason (sorry to sound so mysterious, but I'm really not comfortable discussing too private things online) I will be busy and have less time to spend online, so my apologies in advance for not being able to comment as usual during the next two or three months.

This is going to be a short one, just to say I'm still alive. At least I've finished a new top for Cass, but I haven't had the time or props to do the photoshoot I have in mind yet, so instead I'm gonna post three shots of Brandon's head. Well, sort of. I will offer insights of the unusual kind. ~_^
